Formula 1 in Austin
Just in case someone hasnt seen this yet, Formula 1 is coming to Austin starting next year. The track is being built just outside of Austin to the southeast.
http://www.formula1unitedstates.com/formula1.html
I know I will do everything I can to make it there as this is a pretty coolevent. This event will mark the first time Formula 1 has been in the U.S. since Indy in 2007. This event is bringing International media and pinpoints Austin as the U.S. captial of F1!!!

Very cool, I saw them years ago at the Houston Grand Prix. They shut a good portion of the city down to race on... it was awesome. Sucks that most of the time you just stand there waiting for them to come back for a split second though... then they are gone again.

I'm not sure about the track layout, but maybe we can design an overpass to get to multiple parts of the track to prevent the 300 seconds worth of viewing from a 300 lap race. I will go get the CAD program, call the owners of the track, and setup several meeting with the other designers.....LMAO

No, not in design at all. Just saying I should be to prevent only being able to see 300 seconds of a 300 lap race. I wish I could be that smart and be a track designer, that would be awesome (and prolly profitable). Oh well, I will just fall back on the temporary Army career I have started....

Any idea when tickets go on sale? I've seen the track layout and I'm kinda disappointed, I was hoping for something revolutionary and unique.

F1 isn't the best part of what's coming, you all know that the Australian V8 Supercar series will be held at the track as well starting in 2013, they have a five year contract with them. I'm going to make sure I don't miss any of those races, those drivers and cars(Holden) are awesome....GO TEAM VODAFONE!

I'm just interested in the F1 race at the moment. Nothing like V8 motors spinning 17k RPM!!!

Yes but watching door slammer Holden Commedors and Ford Falcons(real production cars modified to race) hit 200mph in the straights with 5.0 liters makes for some exciting racing.

I guess when they come to Texas we could release some wild hogs on the track instead of Kangaroos, keep it interesting that way.
