Cluster Programming - DIY messages, logos, shift light

With this information, you can buy a $66 cable, downloaded the needed Excel document, and download the free software. Using this, you can program your cluster with it still in the car. All through the OBD2 port with a laptop.

You can program the:
  1. startup logo
  2. shut down message - last four characters MUST be numeric (must select HSV startup logo for this to work)
  3. shift light

You must have Excel 2007 or newer!

I have personally done this to my GTO and it works great. It is highly recommended that you learn how to back up the data from your cluster. I did not do this, only because I did simple things and did not experiment in to the areas of unknown. Guys are working to try and crack the programming to be able to do more.

I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THIS. OTHERS HAVE DONE THIS, I AM SIMPLY PASSING ON THE INFORMATION THAT OTHERS HAVE SHARED.

Work at your own risk.

Download the attached Excel spreadsheet. Follow the steps 1 - 5 clicking on the GREEN boxes / links for software and to buy the cable.

Follow the rest of the steps as outlined in the Excel document.

I've got the cable AND the software now. I just haven't gotten out to the garage to mess with it yet. Been working on the El Camino.
