Time to replace the pads on the goat. Currently running the Hawk Ceramics, which did a great job. My only compliant is how bad they dusted. I have the STS kit on my car and brake boosting is a must. Any suggestions for brake pads that will work as well as the Hawks, but may throw less dust?
Thanks...

Best pads I've ever used. No dust, no noise, they just....stop.

Which ones did you use, PN# possibly? I have never even looked at the brakes on my goat yet, but when the time comes I'll pick some up.

I just got the Hawk ceramic pads (and DBA rotors) from Maryland speed. Love them.

Hey maybe we can actually get stickies on this forum unlike the other one.
Here is the info for part numbers. Copied from a post i made in the past-
The numbers I am using are FMSI numbers. What are FMSI numbers? Here is a quote from stoptech's site- "Friction Materials Standards Institute (FMSI) is an association that assigns numbers to different pad shapes that are used as a guideline for pad manufacturers to refer to, and bring a common numbering system to the brake pad aftermarket. Virtually every pad manufacturer will either use the FMSI number in their numbering system or have a readily available interchange to cross-reference their part number to the FMSI number."
For the corvette C5 z06 and non z06 1997 to 2004-
Front 731
Rear 732
For the corvette C6 non z06 1998 to current-
Front 731
Rear 732
2004 GTO
Front 1043
Rear 1048
2005-2006 GTO
Front 731
Rear 1048
Now as it's been noted in several threads the 2004 GTO can actually use a 731 pad for the front application. The difference in the physical dimension of the part number for a 2004 (1043) pad vs. 2005/2006 (731) pad is that the 1043 pad is slightly taller (.04 of an inch) then the 731 pad. All the other dimensions of the two part numbers are practically the same.
With that said, you should be able to use any front pad for a c5/c6(non zo6) application (years 1997-current) on the 2004-2006 gto. The rear pads for a c5/c6 definitely don't match the rear of any year of the GTO. This also doesn't address actual calipers either.
One more thing to add is you will have to cut off the wear tab off that are on some vette pads to get them to fit.
So Raybestos uses FMSI in thier part numbers. If you want the Advanced Technology series the part number is ATD731AC

I'm taking a hard look at the advanced technology pads; did you know that they make AT rotors as well? Anyone have experience with these ?

The rotors must be new. They weren't available when I was replacing brakes. I would not hesitate to get them.

Cool. I'll look into these. Any recommendations on a stainless line kit?
