So.... I pull out of the parking garage and make my way towards the loop. At a light near the stadium I hear this loud revving near me and in the rear view I see a silver Dodge pick up half in my lane, half in the lane next to me. It's him. Light turns green and the car next to me pulls away pretty quickly; I ease out and here comes that truck zooming around me and gives me a tremendous rev. I am nonplused, but, against my better judgment, go ahead and go WOT and overtake him. He's got a car in his lane and jumps over trying to get around it to the right. I keep going and put about 15 car lengths on him or so (but to his credit he got held up by another car at some point). As I pass the stadium at 100+ in a 30 or 40 mph zone a police cruiser goes by on the other side of the median (yikes). Tool bag catches up to me at the next red light, his rear wheels are not stockers, they're just plain black painted rims - the tires didn't look like slicks or drag radials but I didn't look too close and if they weren't, why the crappy wheels in back and the chrome up front? Anyway, guy looks like he's mid 30s but doesn't say anything. At the light he revs again, and to my enormous amusement, that thing dies and he has to crank it back up right there in traffic. I give him a rev back. Light turns green and as we hit the loop I can tell he's a tool. Zipping back and forth cutting people off like he's driving a Civic and just seen Fast and Furious. Again against my better judgment I pursued for a short time hoping traffic would open up and let me really thrash that dump but didn't look like it was going to happen and I eventually came to my senses and just let him go. I swear, what is it with Dodge Ram and Toyota Tundra owners? Without a doubt they're the biggest truck douchebags in my experience.

So, from the loop, I get on the Westpark Tollway. As I'm merging there's a white Toyota Corolla (or something like that) ahead of me. The left rear wheel is hopping, big time. I'm watching the arm bounce up and down like you would not believe. Louisiana plates. I'm thinking to myself "how can this guy/girl not feel that?" But then I think maybe they simply can't afford to fix it, times are hard and I've been there myself long ago. Anyway, when we merge onto the Tollway I decide I want around this accident waiting to happen, particularly because the driver takes it up to 70-75. I pick my moment and pass the thing up. Less than a minute later, in my rearview mirror I see the white car in the right lane followed by a pack of traffic. Suddenly, either the tire totally blew out and disintegrated all the way down to the bead or the wheel itself came completely off the car. Left rear hits the ground, driver can't react fast enough, the sudden drag on the left side yanks the car hard over to the left straight toward the left side retaining wall and almost manages a 180 before striking the wall with the right front corner, throwing the car up in the air and back down onto the ground parallel to the retaining wall. Now facing traffic and still traveling at least 60+, now in "reverse" and scraping the whole passenger side of the car along the wall, the left rear dragging the ground again comes into play and the car comes off the wall flies straight across both lanes and smashes into the right side retaining wall perpendicular, flat on, crushing more than half the trunk, blowing out all the glass and finally coming to a complete stop. All over in a matter of seconds. I picked up the phone to call 911 but the traffic following had nailed the brakes as this played out and people were stopping to assist so I kept going. Hope they were okay.

Now I get onto 99 and in front of me is a bright red and black Mustang GT, with a Dan Gurney spoiler, wide tires, deck stripes, etc.... Guy is driving with the window down and is watching me in the rearview. I'm completely cool with not messing with him but when we hit the 99 on ramp he guns it. I can't let that happen and go WOT and over take him virtually instantaneously. (He either got out of it when he saw me coming or was completely stock.) After this, I followed him along until we got some open road ahead of us, then I swung out in low gear and pulled next to him, popping him a rev as I went past, and, I admit it, bouncing the front end. He didn't want any and I went on my way.

Three quarters of the way home, a d-bag in a Scion Tc won't let me get over to make a turn as I'm just cruising along. I speed up a little to get around him and he floors that POS. I give him about half throttle, just enough to breeze around him and make the turn. As he goes by going straight he's got this stupid ass grin on his face. I'm sure he thinks he "showed that GTO."

And last but not least, I run into another PBM 2006 GTO, factory 18s and wing still installed. I give him a rev and he comes up alongside and we exchange waves. Nice looking ride. All in all, a freaky trip. It's sure a Friday.

Later,

Nice lil late-night reading. Ha.

I dunno what it is...but pick-ups love messing with me in the Goat. Its gotta be late enough for me to actually show em "what it is."

I had a Dakota buck up to me on I-45 near Richey one night after school. Sounded turbo'd, but I could be wrong. Given I'm a stock LS1 A4, we were neck-and-neck on the freeway at about 70, when he gunned it, and I started to pull on him. So either his car was weak, or his driving is. After I let off about 120, he caught up to me, and started revvin' me. I let him drive off into the night, since once was enough for me.

I luv mah car. Can't wait til I actually throw some mods on.
