Anyone had it rebuilt lately? What did you pay?
My reverse is screwed up and jumps out every time it is engauged. Very embarrasing when you are trying to look cool backing out of a spot and it sounds like your transmission hit the floor or grinds like you never knew what a clutch was.

Talk to Steve at SNL in Ft. Worth. He has the hook up with Tic? Performance, and tells me that their Stage 2 will take care of my problems. I will be getting it done in 6-8 weeks.

Mine got really jacked up and I had everything put in it besides a viper shaft and it was still less than $1,200.00. I even broke the tail shaft housing and output shaft. If everything else is good it should be less than $1,000.00 easy. I had mine done by the now extinct SixSpeed Inc. Hope everything works out for the best.

And we're back! Transmission rebuild cost is the topic.
Should have mentioned mine is an M6 figured it could be gleaned from the description of the problem. Don't need a fully built tranny(sounds so wrong) It's a DD and no cam yet. End goal for the card will be 450rwhp when all is said and done or low 12's high 11's which ever comes first.

yea just make sure your careful on who you have do the work. many "SAY" they rebuild it and replace all kind of things, but most do your shift forks and blockers and out the door you go and there goes your 1000-1200.....just make sure you have more then one guy thats used the place your going to use, and more then one with a good amount of HP thats pushed the trans

it's easy to spend a lot of money just on parts for these trannys. we put between $700-$800 in parts in Jester's T-56.

Give us a call at the shop, Lancer. We have had great success with our six speed work. We can discuss all the options and costs.
Thanks,

So what do you have to do to a M6 to get it to hold 1000+? That is what I am trying to figure out...It sucks when the weekest part of your entire driveline is your input and output shaft...

First, you have to make 1,000. I kid I kid.
Go to a Turbo 400? Or spend around $3,000 getting internals for the T-56. You will have to do a modified Viper main shaft, larger output shaft and bushing, larger slip yoke, modify the speed sensor reluctor and change the drive shaft. Also, this will include billet keys, bronze pads, upgraded springs, steel 3-4 shift fork (if needs replacement), new bearings and new synchros. Turn around time would be about two weeks.

It will make a 1000rwhp...I promise that, spray or not. So you are saying that since part of the T-56 that you have to upgrade is the output shaft, I would have to get another driveshaft? I guess driveshaft number 3 will work...

Which drive shaft do you have right now? You may be able to just get a new slip yoke and u-joint.
