How do you guys clean this? Mine has darkened over the past few years from leather conditioner, and I would like to clean it up, but don't know what to use

If you darkened them with leather conditioner, then you were either using the wrong kind of conditioner or you were using entirely too much or you were applying it all wrong.

That being said, sodium percarbonate is your friend. Use it sparingly, best to mix it in a paste and let it sit for a few.

After that, use some oil-free (usually billed as acne soap, but make sure there's no alcohol or anything - just soap - Cetaphil works well) soap and lather the HELL out of the letters. Rinse with clean water. (you can scrub the leather with the oil-free stuff, too - works like a charm).

using Zainos about 3 or 4 times a year. Just putting a tab in my palm and rubbing over the seat.

That 'z-word'? That's your problem.

Scrub the hell out of those seats and use something worthwhile. Sudsy, serious scrubs with Lexol's cleaner and a VERY liberal application of Lexol's conditioner - followed by a soppy rinse and thorough dry - will do you worlds better.

Yeah - I wasn't clear on that either. You wash and dry AFTER applying the conditioner? Doesn't that take the conditioner right back off?

You don't wash it again with soap - you just rinse the excess off with water and then dry it.

Leather is old skin, remember - when you put lotion on, do you want to lather it on so thick that it makes your hands sweat? Put the conditioner on, then rinse off excess (no washing), then dry it to your desired shine. Too much is no bueno, too little doesn't do you much good.

Interesting... I am going to try and apply this next time I do my leather.
