Pontiac GTO Fitments

5 x 120 mm, +48mm is the stock offset.
(Same as most wheels for BMW's and many Audi and other euro cars.)

REAR Only!
8.0" ............ +36 to +65 ........ 245, 255
8.5" ............ +42 to +65 ......... 245, 255
9.0" ............ +48 to +65 ........ 255, 265, 275
9.5" ............ +55 to +64 ........ 265, 275 (body mods are required)

OFFSETS LESS THAN SHOWN ABOVE WILL RUB ON REAR
FENDER LIP. (25MM FENDER LIP)

I think it is important to note that these are guidelines and not law. Other wheel sizes can be made to fit with the inclusion of stiffer suspension pieces or different tire brands.

For instance, a Nitto 555 in a 275/40/17 runs narrower than a Mickey Thompson ET Street in 275/40/17.

I have 17x9 in the rear with a +45mm offset, and I rubbed under hard acceleration with people in the rear seat with my Mickey Thompsons. I did not with my General Exclaims.

Drag bags fixed the rubbing issue on the Mickeys.

I agree. I think these are good guidlines for a STOCK suspension in GOOD shape. The size and brand of the tire, as well as cradle alignment and spring sag will all affect these measurments.
