In the begining, there was a parts pile...

http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r53/SublimeZ06/Stereo%20stuff/iphone040.jpg

Goals are great sound quality at elevated volumes :D

Gear

Alpine 9886 head unit
Alpine h100 imprint box
Arc 4150 XXk and 2500 XXk amps
Morel MDT-105S tweets
Exodus Neo 6.5" mids
Dayton HO15 sub

Tweets will be molded into a-pillars, mids in stock locations. Sub will be in a ported sparewell fg enclosure.
Hoping to get started this weekend :) Will post pix as I go...

those tweets look a little big to fit in the original spot. Also, Ive heard a little about that imprint box. What is your reasoning to get it? I tuned my system with a few different songs that had different characteristics (i.e. one was bass heavy, one was treble heavy, and the last was an all vocal song). Just curious. I couldnt see spending the $200+ for that piece.

All in all you will be happy with what you have. I know you are going a little over what I have and I love my system so you will definitely love yours!!!

The imprint gives me active crossovers, time alignment, and level control for each speaker. It is mostly marketed for the auto-tune feature, but mine is manually tuned.
Yeah, tweets are kinda big :D. Going to make some custom faces for them which will make them slightly smaller. They will either be molded into the a-pillars or pods over stock locations.
Speaker wire arrived today, so wiring commences tomorrow. Hoping to lay up fg for sub enclosure this weekend too :) Will have some pix by Monday

Very cool, I dont know much about setting up a system (just basics) but I bet this one is going to hit very nicely once its all said and done. One 10" sub is exactly what I wanted... + supporting highs/mids and amps.

Yeah, a 10 woulda been fine for most. Sometimes I go overboard on things... This sub did 139.8, sealed in the vette.winsd says I should gain 6 db's at 40, ported :D

All new 12 ga.

Well I got started this weekend. 1/0 is run. Still trying to find a good solution for fuse holder. Speaker wire is run, and mids are in. It's gonna take some work to get the exodus neo's in, so opted for some nakamichi's I had around. Also decided to back off on pillar install. Found a deal on some Image Dynamics tweets. Gonna try them in the top of the door panels.

Not much real progress, but here's some pix

Gonna wuss out (for now) and put in a temp amp rack. The enclosure has to be built before final amp rack can go in. Not sure I can work on it next weekend and I need music. Also, this has kicked my butt. Getting too old for this stuff...:o

Fiberglass work kinda sucks... (itchy as hell), but damn can do you some amazing stuff with it... very good idea and I like that your doing it all yourself. You dont get much better quality than that...

To be honest, I have more time than money. Custom work is damned pricey. Would love to have the premade box, but it comes in at 4x the cash.

Sorry this is so slow going, hoping to be done for the San Antonio Heatwave.

Nov 7 did the Bass Battles Texas Regional in Webster (outside Houston). First Place in Mod Q. Second highest SQ score of the show. :D

Hoping to Jacks Christmas Show December 11 in College Station.
