Ebay... should be enough to set off an alarm. Ha.
Has anyone else seen this?

Looks cheesy, of course, but I'm wondering if anyone has seen it. On any car, for that matter.
NO, I don't want one. Just curious, I guess.

Looks like one could go to lowes or home depot and buy the garage door seal and some double sided tape and make the same thing

Hence my "ebay alarm" reference. lol
I'm just wondering who else has something "custom" as far as a lip splitter goes. I've seen W-T's, Kircher/SpencerW's, Kyne's, Flink's.
From what I read on ls1gto, MavMan is working on a new one. Still looks a bit grotesque to me.
I wish there was something more subtle. I was just interested to see what else is out there.

Do you have a link to mavmans new one? TIA

I'll try and look for it. He only talked about it, shortly, and showed pictures of one he had made for a different car.
I think he said he was "gaining interest" in making it for our cars.
Check later for the link.

Here's my splitter. It's subtle, but I love it! (It's the 6LE version) :

Manny, that is the one I just put on my car temporarily while I finish my W-T. It's actually a very good piece for the money. I just need to adjust some of the washers so that it is flush. I'll post pics when I do this. There is one for 20$ that comes with no tape or hardware(It's up to you to figure out how to put it on), which is the one to get because the first one I got had that double sided crap and you could see the tape line between the splitter and the bumper. Personaly I think it's a great piece because it's suttle and acts as a bumper guard. It looks almost like the Kircher or the WCS splitter, but it flexes so it won't break like them.

Take some pics of it, man! That's if you haven't already taken it off your car.
Distant, AND close-up, shots... if you can.

Here's something to hold you over till I adjust and take some proper pics. I just took these....... The last pic is the first one I put on with the tape, you can't tell in that pic but if you get lower you can see the line i'm talking about.

Wow. That is subtle.
Doesn't look half-bad, either. Maybe once the GTO loses DD duty... I might throw one on. Too much of a risk... the way I drive, and with the streets of Houston.

But, that's why it's great. It flexes easy because it's just rubber. It wont break. The only hard part is figuring out a way of putting it on so it conforms without warping in some areas. I ended up using about 50 self tapping screws with large washers, but I'm sure there is a better way. If need be I can easily fill those holes in and just repaint it, but it's underneath so I'm not worried. Just because it's cheap and not the 350$ the others are doesn't mean it will look cheap. I call it "thrifty" and innovative, lol.

Ehhh... that's another reason I avoided front splitters. I really don't want to screw into the bumper. Even if it is on bottom.
I might have to check under your front bumper, and see what it looks like. You see how timid my car is. LEDs everywhere, but nothin too extreme. Ha...

That type of simple splitter is the only one that I want. I really am not a fan of the ones that hang out 6 inches and ****... look like a big damn bat wing.

There's a company called APR Performance here in Southern California. They make AMAZING products fully out of carbon fiber. They custom make each piece so you can decide how far it sticks out and they are fully functional!
I was looking into having one made for my Goat. Full Carbon fiber $375 with two titanium connecting rods.
If you're looking for some real high quality work, you might want to check them out.
Nice Not Rice. Right guys? :)

Wow. If you ever decide to get one of these done, be sure to let us know. Maybe you can have them make quite a few, and we'd get a group rate!
Couldn't hurt to ask. Those look really good.

Hey guys just a heads up, I AM getting a custom made carbon fiber splitter from APR Performance within the month. I am going to drive up to their shop in order to have the pattern drawn from my bumper so that they can build it, then I'll drive back up to pick it up and get it installed in a week or so.
Kind of excited! If anyone else is interested, i might be able to have them make more than one, or possibly a group rate, but I doubt many people would be willing to fudge up the 375 for this great, hand made, quality product.
Reply and PM me if you're interested!

I'll just reply in here about the splitter:
Ask them how many people they'd need to have a group rate. Also ask them what the group price would be. I'm damn sure quite a few people would be interested on this forum, and the other. So... KEEP US UPDATED!
