shaved some weight from the goat about 110 pounds and all can be easily put back in my next weight reduction will be kirkey front seats which should save an additional 79 pounds or so any new ideas on easy weight reduction besides skid plate is welcome.here is what ive taken out so far.

v tow brace 11lbs
trunk carpet 6lbs
spare tire 29lbs
jack 8lbs
tank brace 24lbs
rear seats 41lbs

I would never remove the skid plate, but getting a lightweight one is a good idea and move a lightweight battery mounted in the trunk. Gets some weight off the nose... to counter what you took off the back end (since its already lighter then the front).

I would also remove your V tow brace if you havent...

lightweight battery is on the list and i agree the skid plate will not be removed

You can remove those smaller side braces that the gas tank brace bolted to. They are held on by 2 star type bolts. I put the bolts back in though because it seemed to hold the trunk down to the subframe.

Yeah - you can get a lightweight aluminum OEM skidplate. I got mine shipped from a Holden dealer. I don't know the part number or remember what I paid at the time. But I'm pretty sure it was less than $150 shipped. I recall that it was incredibly cheap for the part and the shipping from Australia. I think there's still a Holden part number sticker still on mine and I can look for a part number the next time I am under the car.

Edit: I paid $65 shipped.
