Just out of curiousity - are we going back to March or are we keeping April?

I prefer March because I like the cooler weather.

I thought the weather was fantastic with the exception of the wind. It made it easier for Melissa to stay out there with the baby. (which I know is no one else's problem except for my own) If it was cold like last year she would have been stuck in the car with the baby having to wait on check in at the hotel.

sorry guys the date change from March to April was my fault. historically it was the end of March and when Sarge started Goatfest March's weather was like april this year. The wind will be hard to miss we are in an open field. but as for the blame of the change of dates that was me Ms Romper and SSeeya had rolls in my wedding. but I do agree April was a good time cause at least it was warmer. Working registration last year was rough. too cold...

I like April. But beware, Palm Sunday is 4/17/2011 & Easter is 4/24/2011.

Besides...it really is always a gamble with the weather...if it had stayed the 17th as planned it would have been a rainout...I know cause we were in SA!

Also - I know everyone likes Lady Bird Johnson Park in Fredericksburg, but I wouldn't mind moving Goatfest around a little bit. Or even doing a separate event in the Fall that is someplace else (like S. Padre or Port Aransas). Just a thought.

That Pavilion is just such a perfect spot for all the cars, plus the number of hotels within walking distance of alcohol makes f-burg the best option IMO.

I thought the State Fair thing in October was pretty cool but I think I was the only person outside of Dallas who went up there.

The biggest change I noticed was how pretty and green everything was, both in the park and on the drive up & back. The picture in the May Goat of the Month contest of the GTO among bluebonnets would certainly never happen in March.

I also thought it was cool seeing water flowing over the low water crossing just down from our location; never seen that during the March Goatfests.

i think the water crossing was just cause of all the rain the few days before.

i wanted to get a couple pics in the water, but i didnt want to pollute it down stream with all my tire dressing i had on the car!

I thought of this today and had a look hoping there would be a date listed. I'm trying to plan out my vacation time for the early part of next year and would like Goatfest 7 to be at the top of the list. I missed last year and don't want another year to go by without coming down to hang out and see everyone again.:cheers:

Hey I try to stay away from "the other site" so if someone can post the meeting time/place on this site that'd be great. Last year I lived in Austin and went with the autin goat herd, so I have no idea where SATX/HTX meet up.

I try to troll both sites, but not everyone does.....

Usual meeting place is at Bass Pro Shops on IH-10 in San Antonio.

It's like a huge GTO meet for the entire state of TX, and whomever makes the trip. For a few hours, it's just us walking around, oogling at other GTOs. Then, we have lunch. After lunch, more oogling. After the oogling, there's a prize giveaway. Tons of prizes.

After Goatfest, however, is when the real fun begins. Everyone hits the town, and at night, we take over the bars.
