This was not my first rodeo with the gator pod. I had one in Nellie along with the tripple pillar pod. Abo does great work. Just a word of advice, it will make your life alot easier if you remove the center bezel and work on it outside of the car. It will allow you to see exactly how much more needs to be cut. I have heard several people on ls1 complain about fitment. If you follow this simple advice you will not get any bowing!

Someone else recently released a guage pod that was a lot like the Gator but only like $80. I really need to get a wideband and pod installed so I can get my card fully tuned.

Who's got the cheap pod? Find out please... I'm interested!

you can buy it from gtogrilles.com I personally like how the scss sits. guages on all other pods look so big and bulky. I sent abo a pm and bought a used gator pod for about what the others cost. I sanded it down and painted it kryon flat black at the same time I was doing my Double Din plate. Looks really good!

This is something I've always been meaning to do. I'll save up for the pod and say, "Yes! I can now buy the Pod! Oh, what's this, the Vararam just came out?"

So goes the story....

I will take a pic of the pod, but not how to grind as I dont want to take it all the way apart again lol. But I could give a how too down the road. I will have to take it apart when the gauges get in.

pictures added. Oh and by the way this was a used piece from SCSS that I paid half price for. Some light sanding and Kryon Flat black and it looks as good as new. It by far is my favorite style pod.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics

Those always really nice. Maybe when I get ready to put in my guages I'll look to make my own pod and post the write up.

dont install it in the car is my advice. take the bezel out and make the cut. then you can put the pod in and flip it over and make sure it does not rub anywhere. by doing this you will never get the bow ing effect.

Looks great Daniel. A lot better than what I have, which is an exposed wired wideband sitting in the cubby in front of the shifter.

I'll buy one soon...

Thanks for that advice.

I happen to have a second complete bezel sitting on a shelf that's pretty much brand new...Maybe I'll just do it on that one and swap them out.

I wish the Gator Pod was an option before I got the ones from JHP. I just noticed the other day that the edge of the gauge pod is cracked. :banghead:

I didn't have too much trouble fitting the pod to the dash, but cutting the gauges into the pod!!?! :cursing: I have the innovate XD-16 wideband and the bezel had to cut completely through the bottom of the pod. Scary stuff after spending that much on a pod!! Love the fit of the pod though. I definitely looks and fits like it was OEM.

Man I want to get a scss pod. But that will set me back like another week on my procharger install. :banghead:

I was the guy who made the single pod gauge bezel on the "other forum". I thought the dual gauge pod was already out?

Very nice! Personally I am going to get a JHP pod, but only because I am going to be near stock and want a stock look... If I were to get TT or S/C I would get the SCSS pod to get a boost gauge and AFR.

No A-pillars for me though, I don't like the look of it in the GTO.

Look'n good man! I love mine. SCSS provides the best gauge options for our cars IMO

I had the tripple pillar pod and using the scss gauges there and in the gator pod it looked pretty good. I would have prefered if it could have been the same material instead of the look alike that was stretchy.

I also like the maverick man cluster/pod and the new Crazyflames Dual and Single. If I get more than the 2 guages in the gator I pay buy a cluster pod

Same here...That's probably the direction I'll go if I decide to get more gauges. Probably won't though. Dashhawk will monitor a lot of things :D

Which one did you order Nick? The dual gauge instrument cluster pod?

The Dash Pods. I told them that I wanted to see what the fuel door popper replacement looks like before I ordered the instrument cluster pods.
