i have 255 45 17s on the back right now and its time to replace them.

...again.

so im thinking of jumping up to the 275s.

i know, its a waste considering she's a DD and they'll disentegrate soon, but man... i kinda want em.

think theyll fit?

I had 275's on stock size wheels and they fit fine. I would go with a better tire though. Sumi is a great tire but if you drive her hard they will wear down quick.

well, this will be my 3rd set of sumi's on babygoat... i love em!

for the price, i cant find a better deal.

they perform great (she's a DD) even though i rag on her at least once a day... wet and dry performance has been awesome so far and the wear is pretty slow... i get an average of 30K miles per set, give or take...

Go with the ZIII's in the 275/40/17... at most you'll have to cut/roll the fender but thats little stuff. A member in Austin did mine in 30mins.

i looked at the Z3s and might try em out this time around.

i have drag bags, so i shouldnt need to roll/cut.

im wondering how much its going to affect my gas mileage though, might just go with 255s again and get 2 stock 17's with a DR for summer time.

I have 315's and my gas mileage hasn't changed at all!

The Z3's are very nice tires. They rank up there with the PS2's and other tires of that grade. Plus cost a lot less.

Folks, those 275's will wear out in the center fast. They are too big for the stock wheel, and don't handle too well, because they are "too fat and bulgy in the sidewall". I ripped 2 pairs apart that way. 275's need a 9.5" wide wheel.

yah, decided to go with 255s again. i agree with mike, after seeing a friend who put 275s on his 8" wheel, they just dont fit right.

thanks for all the advice, kids!!

FWIW: Not all 315's are "true" 315's. For instance, put a Nitto 315 next to a BFG 315 and the BFG makes the nitto look like a front runner.

The nitto DR 315 should be fine on our wheels. I plan on running their new tire to see how i like it.

Different tire casings do run smaller or bigger then others. We always compare it to jeans. The fit is not always what the tag says.

You are correct. We recommend at least a 9 when using a 275.

I really like the wheels on the GTO in your sig, How much are a staggered set of 18"
