I don't know if I know any of you guys but up til this past Saturday we meet every friday night at Dick's Sporting Goods in Harker Heights. This past Saturday that was moved to the Target parking lot in the same shopping center in Harker. We are about to loose Tim to a deployment but the rest of us are still out there. Some nights we have as many as 16 gto's and firebirds. I usually don't get there til 9ish because I live in Austin and roll up after work.

I'm not sure if I'm gonna be there or not. I may be only one day. It is September 17 in Fredericksburg, TX. It is actually three days long with roll in on Friday evening and then two days of fun filled show off your baby time and at least one night of hitting the town. There is a thread for it on this forum and if you go to the main forums page you will see it stickied.

I drive it 95% of the time. He just takes it to some of the cruises that I can't be at.

Michelle, I just finished my GF7 registration. I look forward to meeting some other good military folks. I love going to these because you dont see the regular military ass holes you see around post everyday; it's the car fanatics and the people that take care of the important things that make it to these events.... not the alcoholics and numb nuts that are rampid on the Army posts. Sorry for the Army rant.... :)

Littlecrunch I missed meeting you when you were on leave. The goat herd in Killeen is pretty cool. I split my time between them and the Austin herd although they don't really have much of a place anymore since the 1431a meets were shut down. Anymore they go to Cabella's in S Austin and then go eat after. I've enjoyed hanging out with the Killeen herd.

Ok so this Friday night is Tim's last night out at the meets at Target before he deploys. We will be meeting at the clear creek shoppette just off post to roll up to the meet. Meet time is around 6:30 pm friday. Hope to see ya there! If you can't meet us, let us know to save you a spot at the Target parking lot in Harker Heights.

I completely understand. My husband just retired and I work on the gate going out to BLORA. So I see my fair share of numb nuts!!! LOL

1wild1 - yeah that week was a week from hell. I had everything go against me. A simple cam install turned into a $2,600 tab, including parts. Car was down for everyday except Sat night then Sun for the drive home. I get back and I am on 48 hour quarters for food poisoning. My luck HAS to turn around sometime, right? haha
Michelle - Working the gates, you definetly see your share of the idiots ( I D ten Tangos) on a daily basis. I could never work the gates, I would throw my flashlight through people's windshields (there's a good visualization for your next shift) as the situation dictates. I am a former police officer in Austin and still carry my peace officer commission so I know what its like to pull guard and wear all the hot equipment in the TX heat....blah. Stay safe and don't let anyone try to pull their Army B.S. on you.

I would recommend Brake Specialists, but they are in Hutto, Cedar Park, or Round Rock. That is as north as they get. They are an Austin based place that I take my car to if I need that type of stuff done. I personally know the owners and they are awesome guys. Anyways, give them a shout if your buddy can make it that far; if not sorry, I dont have any answers.

Can't wait to get away from the Army life for a weekend and go to Goatfest. Any of yall planning on going to the whiskey distillery tour on Friday afternoon? I am coming on early Friday and having Jimmy and Heath at American Muffler do a tiny bit of work to Pandora before the tour.

GOATFEST THIS WEEKEND!!!! I believe Peeps said that you can attend even if you didnt register as long as you make some contribution to the charity 50/50 raffle. You should def go to that.... over 85 GTO's are known to be attending! If you have never been, you will be amazed. Its a great day of fun!!!

Last I was told you can go, but you just won't be able to eat bbq and join the raffle. You should definitely go. My Samantha is just not ready and I can't make it this year :( I will next year however. I've already put in for the three days off. With any luck by then I will have a rebuilt diff, coilovers and bushing swap all around and maybe some other stuff done to my baby. I will miss you guys and if by some miracle I can bust loose, I may head down there anyways for a little while in the afternoon. If you can go you should not miss this experience!
for those of us that can't go, I'm gonna be out at the Dick's meet friday night in Harker.
