There is a ton of work that goes on to make this happen...be patient and I promise you won't be disappointed!

last 2 years (ive been) we caravan'ed to san antonio and met up with the san antonio crew and drove in together. its worked really well in the past and no reason it wont work in the future.

rowgoat will be at this one, the infinity was a nice cruise out there, but i really wanted my GTO to be there too.

There was alot of work in last years event and we learned some do's and don'ts of planning that big of a GTG. How Buckysgirl and 72/04 gto got it all together in the previous years I don't know but ...:hail: Bill & Karon and the previous organizer Sarge but I am glad they kept this going and allowed the ETG's to continue this tradition. Many friends have been gained and some have been lost but no one is ever forgotten. Sometimes i look back to see what this event has done for me. For those that know me know what I have gained and for those that don't, not only did i meet my gto family and GTO friends those that still have thier cars and those that don't *cough* Brian, Stephen, Rocket, Chris(U2slow4me) *cough*... But I met my soon to be wife there Charlene. A blessing all in its own. With her came her parents and family that mean so much to most of us. This event isn't at a track or a race or even at a dyno day. This event lets you put screen names to faces if you don't already know them. It allows you to meet such Characters as TxRaider(Dave) and Corndog (Jason) you get to know sponsors like Stephen from East Texas Muscle Car, Radio(Steve) from SNL, Mike from Pedders, and Steve and Chris the Tropicare guys. You even get to meet the Grand Nana of them all! Ms Romper! There are so many people that come to this family GTG, that I know you will all enjoy yourself and meet new people and Friends.

All because of a car.

As the day passes there is a field of Beautiful GTO's out there and you almost forget that it was the car that brought you together there in Fredericksburg, because everyone is up the hill talking, eatting BBQ and otherwise enjoying the people that are there. Goat fest will bring memories to you one way or another, I know mine have been life changing and what I walked away with was way better than any goodie bag. It kinda makes you wish it was more than just a weekend some times.

As for 6oatfest! May April Bring good fortune, good weather, and friends together! Sprinkled with a few GTO's ;)

In the little time I have had this great car I have realized that its more then just the car. I have met many good fellow gear heads (gto and others...) because of the car. It creates great conversation for me all the time and I get so many looks just driving it around daily.

Almost everyone I meet simply loves the car and we begin talking, usually for some length of time in some random place. I talked with a fellow GTO owner for like 3 hours at 3am in the parking lot of a chevron. We had cops rolling up on us and asking us what we were doing. Telling us not to be racing and to take it to the track. Its funny cause we were honestly just talking, bouncing ideas back and forth.

I recently installed a shifter on a yellow 04 GTO that I would see around town all the time (always going the opposite direction). We talked on the forum a few times and I saw that he was looking for a local shop to install his shifter. He didnt have the knowledge to install the shifter and was pretty tired of it sitting in his garage. I offered a hand since I had already done this on my car and I knew it would be easier with second time around, especially with an extra hand this time. We knocked it out together in about 3 hours... taking our time going slow and doing it right. He couldnt stop thanking me and really wanted to pay me but I refused. I was more then happy to help out a fellow GTO owner who I know has the same passion for the car that I do. We have become friends now and hang out ocassionally. I have been teaching him how to shoot pool and hes been making great progress. Hes been amazingly greatful for me helping him out with the shifter. Funny how friendships start sometimes...

I really look forward to being at Goatfest and meeting many other great people. Ile keep my eye on this post and plan in advance to be there looking upon the field of Goats grazing.

We have been working on getting things together for it but their health has made this a 2nd priority. When everything gets straightened out there will be a post. Mean while if any of you would like to help we will need help rounding up sponsors or door prize donations!
