I am posting this here as well since most of the Tx Peeps have left the other site:
Well the time has come to create another thread for all you local Texas folks about my car (http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=342054#). As the mechanical portion is winding down, the next phase is already being planned . I have been working with Mike White of soon to be Whiteside Customs on what we are going to do as far as the paint scheme and interior. Part of this phase was to also get an appropriate name for my car. I have been trying to figure it out for years but could never come up with something that I really liked. Well Mike figured it out for me.
Welcome Sandman. No its not a girl name, as most guys name their car, but it fits beyond anything I could have thought up. If you think about the name though it works, here's why.
Sandman means a couple different things that all relate to the final product of the car.
1. I acquired the money for this build while being deployed the last five years to Iraq, known as.....the sandbox.
2. Clean, Sleek, Black is the theme of the car...reference Enter Sandman Metallica Black Album
2. Sandman references putting you to sleep as well. This car will do that on the street.
There is a ton of stuff being done to the car cosmetically that I won't go into detail of right now. Just know this car will not be like any other GTO out there right now. I am having renderings done of the car that I may post on here to spark people's interest a little more but the details of this project will be kept under raps until we do an unveiling at Whiteside Custom's or ETMC.
But to give you an idea, interior is being changed drastically, the rims are something nobody has on their GTO, paint will be unlike anything done on a GTO yet it will still be one color...
