I asked on CHC but I still need a few more opinions on this.
I'm getting new tires. I'm keeping with the 245's up front but in the back I want a wider tire. I wanted to do 275/40/17. From the looks of it the first owner did roll the fenders a little.
Does anyone have this? If so, do or did you have issues with how the tire fit on the rim? Should I just stick to a 265 or 255?

Everyone and there mother have 275s. Some rub, some don't. You should be fine with a 275/40/17.

Im running 275's on a stock 17 without rolled fenders and just drag bags. So far so good, gone through 2 sets of tires on them with no issues. Im selling my 17's with 275's on the back if you can wait till early december to get them.

Agree. Everyone likes to put a 275 on their stock 17s and 18s.

You can do it, i rubbed a bit when i first did it on my 04 and then i had the fenders rolled. I would honestly get a bit wider rim so i could have had all of the rubber on the ground. So i'm going to be modding the crap out of the rear section of the car to fit in some 2009 ZO6 wheels and tires.

So I ended up getting 245/45/17 all around. The only reason I did this was that I got 4 brand new tires off a wrecked mustang for $175 total. Tires had maybe 100 miles on them. These are good enough to hold me over till summer time when I put on a DR

Hey guys I am new here and need your help...put on 275/40/17 on stock 17's today look great love them but, I do have a tire rub when I get in the gas...normal driving is fine seems to be on the inside but not for sure... anyone have any clues......taking off slow is killing me:cool:

drag bags, man. that or replace the rear springs.

Or have SLO GTO grid your fender lip down a little... He's in your area.
