As some of you know I won the free dyno tune from ETMC on here. Yesterday I found time to make the 3.5 hour drive from Houston to Longview. So I texted Austin (Blackest SRT Ever) and he was down for a little road (http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=339439#) trip. The ride there was on a off rain the whole time, and was full of state troopers. When we first got there Stephen was on the phone with a customer, but his other employees made us feel at home. While we were waiting we had to check out the mini tub they did on Matt's (Youngguns350), and by request sent him some pictures.

Also about a two weeks back I posted up about hearing werid noises, and my engine basically shutting down at higher rpm's. We had a feeling that it may be the O2 sensors being bad. We hooked the GTO up to the dyno, and on the first pull it did it. Stephen was able to see on his laptop that the right O2 sensor (http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=339439#) was bad, and at WOT I was only running on 7 cylinders. So Austin jacked up the right side and swapped out O2 sensors. And when Stephen was checking the plugs on the first cylinder the spark plug came out. I guess the spark plug was on, but wasn't in all the way. So, normal crusing was fine, but when at WOT it would only run on 7 cylinders. So now that the problems were fixed, we tried again.

Once the first pull was done, I knew she was running back to normal. During the tune Stephen turned off the check engine light from being catless, and also turned that dumb 1-4 skip shift bs.. Which by the way I'm glad is gone.

I wanna send out a special thanks to Stephen and everyone at ETMC for all the help yesterday. My goat is running great, and was even able to get out it when I was leaving school. Awesome job Stephen! I'll definitely be in contact with him when it's time for the cam. Which by the way will be soon http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/images/smilies/turbonaughtdy_1.gif..

Thanks again Stephen!

The numbers we produced was:

Here are some pictures that I took while I was there. From all the rain on the way there the GTO is a bit dirty..

Oh, and by the way in the third picture those are Matt's (Youngguns350) stock 17's with 315's on them....

Stephen is a great guy. I wish they were in Houston instead of Longview. But I don't mind the drive, it was boring, but it's not that bad.

Congrats!

I'll be down there here in a few weeks to get mine all dialed in. There's a local guy here with H/C putting 470 to the wheels, and I can't have that guy outrunning me :D

Sure hope so...I'm just hoping my clutch holds out for it...Otherwise, it'll be me putting a clutch in and not being able to tune it for another 500 miles.

A bit O/T...But your CSL's are 18's aren't they? Feel like doing some measuring? :D

What is he doing for you? When I was talking with him after the tune he told me I need to replace my clutch before a cam. So I'm doing a clutch in probably a month, than around christmas he'll be doing my cam install..

And yes they are 18's, but I'm thinking about switching to 19's in the back with a 275-285 tire. So I'll be running 18X8.5 in the front and 19X9.5.. I think it will look sweet, and Youngguns350 says the same so I think I might... But what do you want me to measure??

Well, I'm probably going to go with the 18" CSL's, but I'm planning on widening the rears an inch or so in order to fit some 295's (I'll be relocating the shock and notching the LCA along with a BFH on the wheel wells). I was just looking for a couple of folks with the CSL's to check out the current clearances on the inside area. No biggie if you can't. If I can't make it work, I'll just do a full minitub and put 315's back there. It's just more work than I wanted to do, and I suck at welding sheetmetal :D

As for what I'm getting done, I'm getting a real tune for my TVS and a smaller pulley. I'm currently running on the canned maggie tune and it sucks balls. I doubt my clutch is gonna hold though...I'm already saving...I just want to get the tune first.

Great numbers Mike, Glad those problems were just simple things and nothing major. Probably need to get my car re-tuned. But glad it all worked out for you. Sounds like a bunch of good guys..

In the morning I will check that out for ya. But I think your best option is just to do a mini tub.

You only have the 8.5" wide in the back, idk how much your measurement will help lol

Yeah...That's pulling half the car apart AND welding on stuff I'm not very good at. Oh well. I may have to do it anyway.

Oh...I missed that part.:(

Sorry to derail your thread man. I'll just start my own when the time comes
